About the image:

I took this photograph of the Los Angeles skyline many years ago on our first visit to Mulholland. I wanted to create a photograph that represented how disconnected you can sometimes feel in a large city, especially when you've just moved to it. I used shades of gray to enhance the hazy pollution in the air. And I added a texture to help bring out the skyline. My favorite thing about this photo though? It has a home in Lana Del Rey's stunning album Ultraviolence.
